The MolES Pilot Awards aim to seed new interdisciplinary research and help support preliminary data generation toward grant applications.
Funding Support
Selected projects will receive up to $10k in research funding. We anticipate funding up to one project from each scientific exchange. Applicants must have attended one of the two scientific exchange meetings in the 2024-2025 academic year
Funding restrictions:
- For funding dispersal reasons, one of the PIs must be a UW-based MolES faculty member. Co-PIs or Co-Is are encouraged for cross-disciplinary interactions, but the funds will be transferred to the UW-based MolES faculty member. Supplies and reagents purchased from the award may be used at any location toward meeting the proposed aims of the proposal.
- Support is not intended to supplement or extend an ongoing funded research project.
- Funds can be used to support materials, supplies, support services, or personnel. Funds cannot be used for travel expenses.
Outcomes and requirements
- Recipients must submit an outcome report by June 2026. MolES will provide a template at that time.
- Awardees will give a short highlight talk (~5 min) at a MolES faculty meeting.
- Awardees should acknowledge funding source(s) in publications and presentations.
